Oral appliance for Sleep Apnea vs. CPAP
Best treatment for sleep apnea is usually CPAP, but too many people cannot tolerate being attached to that large piece of equipment that very forcefully pushes air into their lungs. So, what happens, is they stop using it, and then their heart problems, blood pressure, daytime drowsiness, snoring, and almost any other disease gets worse. A good alternative is a dental oral appliance. The oral appliance is accepted by tha Academy of sleep medicine as an excellent alternative to the CPAP device for mild or moderate sleep apnea. It eliminates snoring, or cuts it way down. In cases of severe sleep apnea, using the oral appliance can greatly reduce the power of the air needed to be pushed into the lungs, making things more comfortable. Please see my website on dental sleep apnea appliances. I am a member of the Academy of dental sleep medicine. I work with your physician, a sleep medicine physician, sleep study labs, and your medical insurance to get you help for an extremely serious disease.
